Congressman Biggs' Statement on the Biden Administration's Open-Borders Executive Orders
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, President Joe Biden signed three executive orders that will make the United States less secure and incentivize illegal aliens to enter the country. The orders start the process to: 1. Reward illegal alien parents who subjected their children to dangerous journeys to the border; 2. Allow illegal aliens to potentially remain in the United States for years while their asylum claims are pending, returning to catch and release; and 3. Roll back Trump administration policies that previously restored integrity to our immigration system.
Congressman Biggs, co-chair of the Border Security Caucus, released the following statement:
“In two weeks, the new Biden administration has reversed much of the progress that the Trump administration made to secure our border and enforce the rule of law, giving a green light to a massive surge of illegal aliens to enter the United States. The open-borders policies of this administration are destructive to America’s security and sovereignty. These policies will lead to more human, sex, and drug trafficking across our southern border. These policies will inflame the humanitarian crisis of men, women, and children being led for hundreds of miles by dangerous members of cartels. And these policies will make law-abiding Americans more unsafe in their communities.
“President Biden’s actions against border security and the rule of law contradict the sacred words of the oath of office he took on January 20. An American president, no matter which party he belongs to, should uphold the rule of law and our Constitution. The Biden administration’s radical border and immigration agenda dismantles both the Constitution and our rule of law, shatters the future of American sovereignty, and makes our communities less secure with safe haven for potentially violent illegal aliens and increased drug trafficking. I oppose these executive orders from the Biden administration, and I call on him to work with Congress to secure our border and to enforce our laws.”
