Congressmen: Here's Our Plan to Replace Obamacare

January 22, 2017

As one of the first orders of business in the 115th Congress, we are repealing the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, to replace it with a more patient-centered alternative.

President Obama and congressional Democrats forced the ACA on Americans with little debate and a severe lack of transparency. Today, increased costs, dwindling choices and decreased quality of care are hurting our constituents.

Citizens throughout the country are looking to their representatives to fix these issues, and we will answer their calls.

Obamacare has been especially devastating for Arizonans.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, some Arizona premiums are set to increase by 116 percent in 2017. As of 2016, six insurance providers have removed or scaled back their services in the state's ACA marketplace; and Maricopa County, the state's largest county, is projected to have just two insurers for 2017.

Obamacare is collapsing across the country, and Arizona is feeling some of the most dramatic effects.

Our Obamacare alternative focuses on three primary solutions to provide a stable system for all Americans:

  • First, it gives every American more coverage options.
  • Second, it would allow Americans to purchase their coverage across state lines, opening up more opportunities for competition that will, in turn, help to lower costs for consumers.
  • Finally, our alternative protects the patient-doctor relationship.

Americans have demanded that Congress chart a new path for health care.

We promise our constituents that we will not stop working until Obamacare is repealed and we enact an alternative that ensures a better future for them, their children and their grandchildren.
