OP-ED: Trump Is America’s George Bailey

October 7, 2019

Democrats, under House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's leadership, are working to grind President Trump under the heel of their boots with the intention of overturning the outcome of the 2016 election. It is reminiscent of the iconic American classic film, "It's a Wonderful Life," which shows that right will triumph over those who malevolently attempt to manipulate justice.

In this movie, the leading character, George Bailey, goes about doing good and the whole community is benefited by his selfless actions. President Trump has enacted policies that have put more people to work than ever, more money in everyone's pockets, and restored the hope of American greatness at home and abroad. He is America's George Bailey.

In the film, George Bailey's every good deed is undermined by the power-hungry Mr. Potter. Potter relentlessly attacks and helps manufacture one crisis after another for George. The mendacious Potter represents the hate-filled Schiff, Pelosi and their colleagues.

These Democrats have created one crisis after another for President Trump and the American people. They make claims sometimes out of whole cloth, with absolutely no evidence. Like Potter, they can't allow any who question them, challenge their power, or have a popular vision for this country that doesn't comport with their leftist worldview.

This means that Schiff and the gang will gin up one accusation after another. Remember the Democrats had champagne on ice the night of the 2016 presidential election. Media personalities and expert consultants literally cried on camera when their chosen political messiah was defeated by the consummate outsider Donald J. Trump.

In despair, some announced their intention to impeach President Trump before he was even sworn in. Some declared on Inauguration Day that the impeachment investigation was started.

Yet every time they announce that they have the goods, their claims evaporate. Think of Mueller and the Democrats' claims that the team of partisans would deliver clear and convincing evidence. The Democrats were wrong. Very wrong.

So now Pelosi declares that we will have an impeachment investigation. But there is no investigation because she won't ask the House of Representatives to sanction such an investigation. In the meantime, Schiff is holding interviews behind closed doors in case he's wrong again.

Like the movie, the Democrats (cum Mr. Potter) continue to attack, but in the end, the president is exonerated, the community rallies around him, and President Trump gets reelected. I added the last part because every American who has seen the movie is cheering for the outsider and against the scornful Mr. Potter character. Americans will rally around this president. The only thing we're missing are Zuzu's petals.
