PASSING THE BATON -- Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) officially becomes the new chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus today, taking the reins from its longtime leader Mark Meadows. Biggs is now the third chairman to ever lead the caucus, which has close ties to Trump but has lost much of its influence in the minority. Trump had this to say about the sea change: "My great friend, @RepMarkMeadows, has been an EXCELLENT Chairman of the House @FreedomCaucus, which has been a tremendous success," he tweeted. "I am looking forward to close collaboration with his successor (starting Tuesday) and Strong Leader, @RepAndyBiggsAZ!"
