Congressman Andy Biggs Praises Senate Confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh
GILBERT, ARIZONA – Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court. Congressman Andy Biggs issued the following statement:
“I am very pleased that Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed to take a seat on the United States Supreme Court. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is highly qualified and will be an excellent justice. He authored hundreds of opinions while on one of the nation’s most influential courts. His judicial colleagues, those who appeared before him and those who worked for him, have extolled his capacity and integrity. Judge Kavanaugh’s judicial philosophy follows the language of the Constitution and enacted laws. He understands that the role of the courts is to apply the law, not make law from the bench. Such a mindset is needed now, more than ever, in every court across this nation.
“Judge Kavanaugh and his family have received an unprecedented amount of violent vitriol by the Left who have attacked and threatened him. He and his family showed incredible grace, poise, and forgiveness through this destructive process. His adversaries ought to follow his example of humility. I am deeply appreciative that Judge Kavanaugh and his family accepted the duty of public service, and I have no doubt that he will help lead the Supreme Court back to our founders’ intentions.”
