Congressman Andy Biggs' Statement on Newly Released Tax Reform Package
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, House Republicans released their tax reform package. Congressman Andy Biggs issued the following statement:
"My staff and I are poring over this legislation and analyzing the impact these policies would have on the constituents of Arizona's Fifth Congressional District. It has been over thirty years since our nation has reformed our tax code. Since then, its size and complexity has rapidly expanded to the detriment of all Americans. I look forward to participating in a rigorous debate as this tax reform package moves through Congress.
"I am grateful to my colleagues who have worked diligently to release this tax reform policy. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to free Americans from a convoluted and oppressive tax system. I am excited for these changes because the status quo is not good for individuals, families, and businesses. Today, we turn the page to a new era, and I am fortunate to be able to work on tax simplification and reform."
