Congressman Andy Biggs' Statement on Reinstatement of "Mexico City Policy"

January 23, 2017

Washington, D.C. - Today, President Donald Trump reinstated the "Mexico City Policy," which was established by President Reagan in 1984 to ban federal tax dollars from funding international organizations that promote or provide abortions. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

"As we reflect on the 44th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade and look ahead to Friday's March for Life rally, I am pleased that President Trump has reinstated the ‘Mexico City Policy,' and placed an emphasis on the dignity of life. I hope that this action will be the first of many from the new administration and Congress to protect and defend life."

Congressman Andy Biggs is a first-term Representative from Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, representing parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Sun Lakes, and Queen Creek. He lives with his wife Cindy in Gilbert.
