Congressman Biggs Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition

GILBERT, ARIZONA – Congressman Andy Biggs announced details for the 2019 Congressional Art Competition, which is a non-partisan, official event open to all high school students residing in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District. Congressman Biggs released the following statement:
"As a Member of Congress, I look forward to participating in the annual Congressional Art Competition. I am truly amazed by the dedication and skill demonstrated by the talented students who take part in this event."
DETAILS:
The first-place winner will have the honor of displaying his/her artwork in the United States Capitol Building, where it will be accompanied by the winning entries from other congressional offices around the nation. The second-place entry will be displayed in my Washington D.C. Office, while the third-place entry will have their artwork displayed in my District Office. All winning entries for Arizona's Fifth Congressional District will be displayed for a period of one year.
Aside from the first, second and third place winners, one entry from the following mediums will also receive recognition:
- Paintings
- Drawings
- Mixed Media and Collage
- Prints
- Computer-Generated Art
- Photographs
All entries must be delivered by teachers or other assigned adults to theChandler Museum at 300 South Chandler Village Drive Chandler, Arizona 85226 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 or Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Each entry must have the Student Informationand theRelease Form signed by the students, parent(s), and teachers. The half-sheet student form should be attached to the back of the artwork.
