GILBERT, ARIZONA – Today, Congressman Andy Biggs announced the promotion of Kate LaBorde as his new Chief of Staff. Ms. LaBorde has worked on Capitol Hill for the past 11 years – both in the Senate and in the House. She has served as Congressman Biggs’ Legislative Director since January 2017, and replaces outgoing Chief of Staff, Deborah Mazol. Congressman Biggs released the following statement:

“I am pleased to promote Kate LaBorde to be my Chief of Staff. Kate has faithfully served our office and the constituents of Arizona’s Fifth District for almost four years, and I have the utmost confidence in her abilities to lead my office. She has proven that she can help our office advance the conservative principles and promises that we have made to Arizona’s Fifth District. I look forward to working with her to direct our team and priorities.

“I’m thankful to Deborah Mazol for her service to my office and to Arizona’s Fifth District. She was instrumental in facilitating much of my office’s success, including the monumental passage of ‘Right to Try’ in 2018. I wish her nothing but the best with her new endeavors.”

“It has been an honor and a blessing to serve Arizona’s 'Fighting Fifth' Congressional District for the last three and a half years. Congressman Biggs is a principled leader who always puts the needs of his constituents and our nation first, and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue serving alongside him as his chief of staff. I look forward to connecting with our constituents in this new role and fighting for all that the great state of Arizona has to offer.” – Kate LaBorde

Prior to serving as Legislative Director for Congressman Biggs, Kate spent four years working on education and judiciary policy for Senator David Vitter (R-LA). She also served three years on the Senate Judiciary Committee under then-Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-AL). Kate graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama in 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
