Congressman Biggs Demands Answers Over Lack of Prosecution for Illegal Entries at Southern Border

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs and 13 of his House colleagues sent a letter to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding the number of illegal aliens prosecuted for illegally entering the United States. “Nearly 2 million illegal aliens have been processed under immigration authorities since Joe Biden took office and I suspect that most of these illegal aliens have not been prosecuted by the Biden Administration given its evisceration of immigration enforcement,” said Congressman Andy Biggs.
“The Biden Administration should be enforcing the immigration laws on our books instead of giving a free pass to those unlawfully entering our country. Not enforcing our immigration laws is one of the many reasons that we are experiencing a historic border crisis. The Biden Administration has repeatedly sent the message that our borders are open and illegal aliens will not face consequences. All of this is unacceptable. 
“Secretary Mayorkas and Attorney General must provide us with immediate answers regarding its usage of Title 8 and commit to returning law and order.”
