Congressman Biggs Demands Answers From Secretary Mayorkas
Today, Congressman Andy Biggs sent a follow up letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas after DHS took eight months to respond to Congressman Biggs’s original inquiry from May 2021. DHS's delayed, patronizing response failed to include the information necessary to fully understand the scope and process of the department's unlawful release of illegal aliens from their custody.
“Secretary Mayorkas took eight months to respond to questions I asked,” said Congressman Andy Biggs. “DHS’s answers—more like excuses—reflect the dangerous state of our southern border thanks to the Biden administration’s destructive policies. I have requested additional information from DHS and expect a more timely and more complete response from Secretary Mayorkas.”
For more information about the inadequacy of DHS’ response, see this analysis from Center for Immigration Studies’ Andrew R. Arthur. Mr. Arthur raised important questions that DHS must answer.
