Congressman Biggs Demands Biden Administration to Stop Tracking Religious Exemptions from COVID-19 Vaccine

January 24, 2022

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs, along with 40 colleagues, sent a letter to President Biden demanding that his administration stop tracking federal employees who have applied for religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine. This comes after the Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia issued notice in the Federal Register that it would create a new records system to track federal employees’ “personal religious information”. It has been reported that at least 19 federal agencies, including five cabinet level agencies, have also proposed creating similar databases.

“There is no debate. The Biden administration must not use the power of the federal government to track the personal religious information of federal employees who have requested a religious exemption from President Biden’s vaccine mandate,”said Congressman Andy Biggs.“The Biden administration has contempt for Americans who prioritize their faith. We must protect religious freedom and the federal government must stop gathering the private information of Americans. The Biden administration is engaging in one more method of surveilling innocent Americans. I call upon President Biden to respect Americans and to end this pernicious practice.”
