Congressman Biggs Demands DHS Accountability for Dismissal of Immigration Cases
This week, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to inquire about DHS’s dismissal of immigration cases. In FY22, ICE’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA) moved to dismiss or administratively close nearly 92,000 immigration removal cases. In his letter, Congressman Biggs demands answers from Mayorkas regarding the concerning number of dismissals by OPLA.
“Secretary Mayorkas, through the dismissal of removal cases, has once again shown the American people that he is unfit to carry out the responsibilities of his office. Every day that Mayorkas remains in office, America becomes less safe. I am grateful to my colleagues for their support on this letter, and I look forward to the accountability that it will bring,” said Congressman Biggs.
