Congressman Biggs Issues Statement on President Trump's Action on Federal Regulations

"I commend President Donald Trump for taking swift action to rollback federal regulations, keeping his word to help our overburdened American businesses. President Trump correctly realizes that our regulatory system has severely stifled our economy, small business growth and has hurt American job opportunities from the west coast to the east coast.

"For the past few weeks, the House of Representatives has passed numerous bills to provide regulatory relief for Americans, who, up until now, have been regulated in virtually every aspect of their lives. Like the new administration, Congress understands the importance of giving the American people the tools and resources to create an economy that works for them, and not the government.

"I co-sponsored and voted for the REINS Act, which seeks to restore oversight authority to Congress for any major federal regulation that could potentiall cost the U.S. economy at least $100 million. When the federal government removes the drag of onerous regulations, the economy will become freer and less complex, which, in turn, will lead to the creation of many more jobs. I am proud to be a part of an elected body that is giving power back where it belongs."
