Congressman Biggs Opposes Plan to use Taxpayer Dollars to Fund Legal Services for Illegal Aliens

February 2, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Andy Biggs, along with 24 colleagues, sent a letter to the House Appropriations Committee regarding the recent reports that the Biden administration is planning to spend taxpayer funds to provide legal services for illegal aliens. The letter demands that the Appropriations Committee oppose funding these programs.

“American taxpayers should not be paying for illegal aliens to be given free legal aid services. This action would only further incentivize immigrants to cross our borders illegally,” said Congressman Andy Biggs. “The Biden administration has committed impeachable offenses by effectively abolishing ICE and violating Title 8 and Title 42 with intent. Instead of spending taxpayer dollars to provide legal aid to illegal aliens, Biden should prioritize enforcing our nation’s laws, securing our border, and addressing the backlog of more than 1.6 million cases pending before the immigration courts.”
