Congressman Biggs Reintroduces Four Pieces of Healthcare Legislation

January 27, 2022

GILBERT, AZ- Today, Congressman Andy Biggs re-introduced four pieces of legislation that aim to rein in federal involvement in the healthcare industry and fully repeal Obamacare.

"Americans have the right to make medical decisions without interference from the federal government," said Congressman Andy Biggs. "The federal government screws up almost everything it touches. Medical care is no exception."

Congressman Biggs continued, "I have repeatedly called for a clean repeal of Obamacare. Republicans made this promise to the American people, and failed to deliver. If we keep this promise we will give significant premium relief to millions of Americans suffering under the law's taxes and mandates."

Below are the four pieces of legislation that Congressman Biggs has reintroduced:

The Medical Innovation Acceleration Act, which would eliminate Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversight of low-risk, non-invasive medical devices.

The Prescription Freedom Act, which would eliminate federal prescribing requirements within six months of enactment, while maintaining important pro-life protections.

Legislation to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow an above-the-line deduction for health insurance premiums

The Responsible Path to Full Obamacare Repeal Act, legislation to fully repeal Obamacare.
