Congressman Biggs’ Statement on House Judiciary Committee Hearing with Hope Hicks
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, the House Judiciary Committee transcript was released for yesterday's closed-door hearing with former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks. Congressman Biggs, who participated in the hearing, released the following statement:
"As I told Ms. Hicks, yesterday's hearing was a farce. It was a waste of Ms. Hicks time, of lawmakers' time, and of the American people's time. The majority only wanted to relitigate the Mueller investigation – as they have in the weeks since its release. Twenty-two months, countless interviews and subpoenas, and 1.4 million documents were not enough for the Democrats. They are convinced that President Trump must have committed a crime, and so they will keep digging and making up their own facts.
"Democrats dragged Ms. Hicks before this committee yesterday knowing that she could not answer questions they would pose to her. That was an abuse of the congressional process. I call on my colleagues on the majority to get back to work for the American people. We have much to accomplish, and we were not sent to Congress for the purposes behind these hearings. Let's prove that we are worthy of our positions, not posturing for political revenge."
