Congressman Biggs’ Statement on Obamacare’s Unconstitutionality

March 26, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the Department of Justice agreed with a December ruling from U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor that Obamacare is invalid due to the unconstitutionality of the individual mandate. Congressman Biggs, who has opposed Obamacare since its inception, issued the following statement:

"I'm pleased to see the DOJ agrees that Obamacare is unconstitutional. Obamacare devastated the health care industry across America, wreaking havoc on quality and availability of care for millions of Americans. President Trump and many Members of Congress promised to repeal this disastrous law, and we should continue our efforts until these policies are permanently removed. Americans deserve a health care system they control, not a government-run operation that limits access between patients and their doctors."

Congressman Andy Biggs is a second-term Representative from Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, representing parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Queen Creek. Congressman Biggs is a member of the House Judiciary and Science, Space, and Technology committees. He lives with his wife, Cindy, in Gilbert.
