Congressman Biggs' Statement on the Peter Strzok Hearing
WASHINGTON, D.C. – After almost 10 hours of testimony yesterday, the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees concluded their hearing with FBI agent Peter Strzok. Congressman Biggs, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, attended the hearing and issued the following statement:
"Peter Strzok was a lead FBI investigator in the Hillary Clinton investigation and in the Russian election probe, and Strzok's text messages demonstrate considerable bias against President Donald Trump. Yesterday, Mr. Strzok displayed hubris and resisted Congressional efforts to obtain information on his actions during these investigations. Mr. Strzok continues to argue that the dozens of messages he exchanged with his mistress and FBI counsel expressing their desire to subvert the Trump campaign did not constitute bias.
"Mr. Strzok's attitude represents the fatal flaw at the Department of Justice: an unwillingness to submit to Congressional oversight. Congress should not have to beg, plead, or prostrate itself for answers – especially when it is well documented that rogue officials and agents were attempting to undermine the will of the American people to assert their political wills on the 2016 election."
