Congressman Biggs’ Statement on President Trump’s Second State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, Congressman Andy Biggs attended President Donald Trump's second State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress. He released the following statement:
"For the first two years of his administration, President Trump has made significant progress in keeping his promises to the American people. He has revitalized the economy through tax cuts and deregulation. He has fought to secure our porous borders. He has strengthened our military. He has helped our veterans receive the care they deserve. He has unleashed America's tremendous energy resources. He has prioritized American interests in dealings with the international community. I appreciate President Trump's leadership and his words tonight before Congress and the nation. He has once again challenged Members of Congress to keep our promises.
"There is more work ahead. I am encouraged that President Trump realizes the importance of working with Republicans and Democrats to maximize America's potential for future generations. I hope all of my colleagues will put American success and security above partisan politics. We can – and we must – commit tonight to a fresh start to continue to show the world that the United States will lead by example with our policies and our vision for the future."
