Congressman Biggs Votes to Pass the Tax Reform Package Conference Report

December 19, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This afternoon, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 1 - Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Congressman Biggs voted YES on the conference report and released the following statement:

"This is an historic day. We promised our constituents we would cut taxes and reform our outdated tax structure. Today, we honored those commitments. I applaud my colleagues who have worked for many months – and years – to accomplish this objective.

"The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will provide much-needed economic relief to American individuals, families, and businesses. Families will be able to save more money to send their children to college. We are already seeing the positive economic impact based on the promise of tax reform. When this bill is signed into law, we will see an even more robust economy. We understand that the tax cuts in this legislation belong to our constituents. Our constituents are better equipped than the federal government to stimulate our economy with their hard-earned money.

"While this package goes a long way to keeping our promise to the American people, there is still much work to be done. We must continue to simplify our tax structure. We must cut spending. And we must reform our broken welfare system."
