House Democrats Waste Another Day in Washington, D.C.

July 17, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed a criminal contempt resolution for Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. House Democrats also introduced Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump, which were ultimately tabled. Congressman Biggs voted against the contempt resolution and to table the impeachment articles. He released the following statement:

"Democrats wasted another day in the People's House on their incessant attempts to undermine President Trump and his administration. The American public opposes impeachment and contempt findings for Barr or Ross. Congressional Democrats continue to pursue a radical, left-wing, ideological course. They choose to harass and verbally attack the President and his administration with continued congressional hearings. I again call on my colleagues to forgo their political witch hunts against the administration."

Congressman Andy Biggs is a second-term Representative from Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, representing parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Queen Creek. Congressman Biggs is a member of the House Judiciary and Science, Space, and Technology committees. He lives with his wife, Cindy, in Gilbert.
