House Judiciary Committee Approves Biggs' Amendment for Ninth Circuit Legislation
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Judiciary Committee held a mark-up of several bills. Congressman Biggs offered a successful amendment to Rep. Darrell Issa's CIRCUIT Act, requiring the Judicial Conference of the United States to study the most preferable division of states within the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He released the following statement:
"I thank my colleagues on the committee for approving this amendment. Since my first day in Congress, I've worked with Members to raise awareness for the need to reform this out-of-control circuit, keeping a primary commitment I've made to my constituents. This court is simply too large to properly and efficiently handle the cases that come before it. I welcome the renewed discussion on this vital issue, and I look forward to moving ahead with a solution to deal with the problems arising from the Ninth Circuit."
