Speaker Pelosi Compelled to Transmit Articles of Impeachment

January 10, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi retreated from her obstinate avoidance of her constitutional obligation to transmit the Articles of Impeachment to the U.S. Senate, announcing that there would be a vote next week to appoint House managers. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

"It's about time! Speaker Pelosi used the Constitution as a political weapon against the President, and this has harmed our institution. Speaker Pelosi lied to the American people about her sense of urgency and has finally been compelled to transmit the Articles."
