Yesterday, Congressmen Andy Biggs and Matt Rosendale introduced H.Res. 673 to force the House of Representatives to consider H.R. 1259, the REMAIN in Mexico Act of 2021. H.R. 1259 requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), otherwise known as the Remain in Mexico Program. In August, DHS was ordered by Judge Kacsmaryk of the Northern District of Texas to “enforce and implement MPP in good faith[.]” However, DHS has yet to reimplement MPP despite Judge Kacsmaryk’s order.
