GILBERT, ARIZONA- Last week, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins visited the Port of Entry in Douglas, Arizona, to reveal that a multi-million-dollar sterile fly dispersal facility would be built in the state to combat the New World screwworm – a parasitic fly that feeds on the flesh of warm-blooded livestock, killing them if left untreated.

GILBERT, ARIZONA- Today, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released its long-awaited Post-2026 Operational Guidelines for Lake Powell and Lake Mead – Final Environmental Impact Statement. 

The framework reduces Arizona’s share of the Colorado River usage through 2036 – though not by as much as the Draft Statement proposed earlier this spring.

GILBERT, ARIZONA- Last week, Congressman Biggs voted to pass H.R. 7008, the Stop Insider Trading Act. The legislation bans Members, spouses and dependent children from purchasing securities issued by a publicly traded company. It also requires Members to file a public notice with the Clerk of the House well in advance of any intended stock sale.

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-05) co-led a letter to U.S. House leadership, urging the inclusion of funds in the recently introduced emergency funding package to address the increasingly dire condition of the Colorado River Basin. The requested funding would support water infrastructure investments, upgrades, and long-term planning for this vital resource's future. Congressman Biggs partnered on the letter with Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01).
