Washington, D.C. - Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-05), chairman of the U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee's Subcommittee on Environment, delivered the following opening statement at this morning's hearing, "Leading the Way: Examining Advances in Environmental Technologies":
Good Morning and welcome to today's Environment Subcommittee hearing, entitled "Leading the Way: Examining Advances in Environmental Technologies." I'd like to first thank our excellent witnesses for being here today.
We've heard all manner of complaints about the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, many of them fully justified. They've most recently drawn the wrath of the President for putting the temporary kibosh on his travel ban, but the list of perceived sins by the largely liberal judges spread across that massive holding dates back much further. Leaving ideological leanings aside for the moment, one of the biggest complaints about the Ninth is that it's so… well… big. It's territory covers locations with a total population of more than 60 million people.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed landmark legislation to hold Veterans Administration employees accountable for performance or misconduct and to enhance protections for whistleblowers. S. 1094 was passed by the U.S. Senate last week, and approved by the House today. Congressman Biggs released the following statement:
The House Judiciary Committee recently debated the Secret Service Reauthorization Act, a bill with broad support from both sides of the aisle. As debate concluded, Democrats introduced an amendment that's sole purpose appeared to be to attack President Donald Trump. Debate quickly slowed to a crawl as Democrats on the committee rambled on relentlessly repeating unfounded and exaggerated claims about our President.
This is the new normal in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. – Today, former FBI Director James Comey testified before the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee that the FBI was not investigating President Trump during his tenure. Congressman Andy Biggs issued the following comments:
This week, the U.S. House of Representatives will pass the Financial CHOICE Act. It will eliminate the idea of "too big to fail," which actually meant "too small to grow." It will provide regulatory relief to the financial services industry by rolling back unnecessary government intrusion into our financial system. This result is that American consumers and small businesses will have more access to capital. This will, in turn, create jobs.
Washington, D.C. – Last night, the House Freedom Caucus took an official position in support of the House of Representatives remaining in session through the August recess. Congressman Andy Biggs voted in favor of this position and released the following statement:
