Washington, D.C. – This week, United States District Court Judge William H. Orrick in San Francisco issued a temporary injunction on President Donald Trump's previous executive order that withholds federal funds from U.S. cities that do not cooperate with federal immigration laws. This decision follows two other court actions blocking a separate executive order on immigration vetting, including decisions by the frequently-overturned Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

PHOENIX — An Arizona congressman said Thursday he was glad to see President Donald Trump's proposed tax plan does not include a border adjustment tax.

"I think that's good news because that's not going to be helpful for the country," U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) told KTAR News 92.3 FM's Arizona's Morning News.

President Donald Trump's dedication to enforcing immigration law is one of his significant accomplishments as he nears his 100th day in office Saturday, experts and lawmakers say.

Trump is "taking the handcuffs off of [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and the Border Patrol because the immigration enforcement officers were prohibited from doing their job to a significant degree under [President Barack] Obama," Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, told The Daily Signal in an interview.
