Anti-abortion groups and conservative lawmakers are worried that several provisions aimed at cutting abortions won't survive in the House Republicans' plan to repeal Obamacare.

The lawmakers are worried that a plan to cut Medicaid spending to Planned Parenthood for one year, a long-standing goal among conservatives, nor a provision that would restrict abortions could make it to final passage in the American Health Care Act, which would repeal Obamacare.

The U.S. Judicial Conference agreed Tuesday to recommend Congress add five judges to the California-based federal court of appeals.

In addition to the five judgeships the conference wants Congress to create on Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the 26-member policy-making body for the federal court system is recommending Congress create 52 Article III judgeships in the district courts, and give eight temporary district court judges full-time status.

After years of calling for the dismantling of "Obamacare," many Republicans have come to a stark realization. It might be all but impossible, politically, to do so while ignoring how it extended coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.

"If Republicans have accepted that everybody with pre-existing conditions are covered, that kind of dictates a lot of what you can and can't do," Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., said, citing one of the key tenets of President Barack Obama's signature 2010 health law.

Washington, D.C. – This week, ADP Research Institute reported that the United States added 298,000 private-sector jobs in February – the first full month of the 115th Congress and the Trump administration. According to the report, expectations for new jobs was originally set at 190,000. Washington, D.C. – Today, the Department of Homeland Security reported that illegal border crossings from January to February decreased by 40 percent (31,578 to 18,762 illegal aliens). Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the Department of Defense Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2017. This bill appropriates $577.9 billion for the Department of Defense ($516.1 billion in base discretionary funding and $61.8 billion in Overseas Contingency Operations / Global War on Terrorism funding). Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Transition Authorization Act by voice vote. Among other provisions, this bill requires NASA to develop a plan for an eventual manned mission to Mars in the coming decades. Most of Arizona's congressional delegation appears to oppose the Republican plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, which is expected to face a key vote Friday. Democrats oppose the GOP's American Health Care Act outright, and most of the state's Republicans saw the plan as insufficiently conservative.

Washington, D.C. – Today, President Donald Trump signed a new executive order, aimed at preventing potential terrorists from entering the United States, by issuing a 90-day travel ban for individuals from now only six nations: Syria, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, and Libya. Iraq was included in the previously-issued executive travel order but was removed after the Iraqi government committed to share additional intelligence with the United States.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-05) was named FreedomWorks' Member of the Month for March. Congressman Biggs received this recognition for being an advocate for individual liberty and federalism throughout his first two months in Congress. FreedomWorks specifically mentioned Congressman Biggs' work on the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, the Right to Try Act, and H.R. 899, which eliminates the Department of Education.
