In January, President Trump placed travel restrictions on foreign nationals traveling from China, helping the United States prevent the importation of the coronavirus from its international source. Democrats and the nutty Left shouted, "Xenophobe" and "Racist!" Now they are attacking the very essence of America: our recognition of God-given rights and the market economy.

It is time America went back to work. People want to work. We understand that self-sufficiency and meaningful employment is part of the good life — the American dream.

Medical leaders have advised us to distance ourselves from each other and to lock ourselves into our homes. The vast majority of the country has undertaken these measures and heeded the counsel regarding improving our hygienic habits.

The coronavirus is a serious disease that we are fighting to bring under control. But we also need to combat fear.

Americans have viscerally responded to this challenge. Our worries have been stoked by the news media, resulting in the type of panic that is gripping America. Is fear or hard science leading our government's response? Mayors and governors are ordering curfews, closing all "nonessential" businesses, halting political gatherings, and suspending religious services. Now, government officials are issuing guidelines against congregating in groups larger than 10 people.
