May 14, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) announced plans to build an advanced semiconductor factory in Arizona. According to its website, TSMC is the world's largest semiconductor foundry, manufacturing 10,761 different products using 272 distinct technologies for 499 different customers in 2019. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

"I applaud TSMC for its plans to open up a sector of its operations in Arizona. Arizona offers tremendous incentives for businesses to relocate to our state, and I have no doubt that TSMC will thrive in our pro-growth environment. I also congratulate the Trump administration for continuing to bring overseas companies here to the United States to ensure that our supply chain is not interrupted by international chaos. The president understands what it takes to put Americans first, and we continue to see the fruit of his agenda in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak."

Congressman Andy Biggs is a second-term Representative from Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, representing parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Queen Creek.
