Congressman Biggs Votes NO on Democrats' Amnesty Bills

March 18, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Biggs voted against H.R. 6 The American Dream and Promise Act and H.R. 1603 Farm Workforce Modernization Act because Congress should not reward those who have broken our immigration laws with amnesty.

"Democrats are ignoring the Biden inhumane border crisis. Instead of addressing this crisis, Democrats are trying to pass bills that perpetuate illegal activity by incentivizing these behaviors with the promise of amnesty and other benefits," said Congressman Andy Biggs. "Make no mistake, supporting these bills supports amnesty for those who have broken our laws and empowers cartels to take advantage of aliens and further weaken border security. Congress must stop with these destructive bills and focus on legislation with real reforms that will secure our border and increase integrity in our immigration system."

Congressman Biggs reintroduced his Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act alongside introducing the Stopping Border Surges Act to strengthen border security and address the loopholes in U.S. The Stopping Border Surges Act fixes problems caused by the Flores Settlement Agreement that prevents DHS from detaining family units for more than 20 days, ensures that unaccompanied alien children are quickly and safely returned home, and promotes increased integrity in the asylum system.
