Congressman Biggs Votes to Pass Tax Reform 2.0

September 28, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the House of Representatives passed the three bills comprising Tax Reform 2.0. These bills were H.R. 6756, the American Innovation Act; H.R. 6757, the Family Savings Act; and H.R. 6760, the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act of 2018. Congressman Biggs supported these three bills and issued the following statement:

"Last winter, the Congress passed a historic tax cuts package to give American individuals, families, and businesses significant relief from their tax burdens. This action, along with rigorous efforts to trim onerous regulations, boosted the American economy for years to come. Due, in part, to the 2017 tax cuts package, government revenue is up, unemployment numbers are down, consumer confidence is up, wages for hard-working Americans are up, more jobs are being created, and GDP is soaring. Within days of passage – and continuing for months – hundreds of companies distributed billions of dollars in bonuses and pay raises for millions of workers.

"With this success, comes the responsibility to sustain these benefits for future generations of Americans. That's why I was pleased to vote for Tax Reform 2.0 to entrench our historic tax reform policies and give Arizonans more economic certainty. I hope that the Senate will quickly consider these bills to send Tax Reform 2.0 to the President's desk for his signature."
