Congressman Biggs Votes for Transparency with Mueller Report, Calls for Transparency with DOJ & FBI Officials

March 14, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Biggs voted in favor of H. Con. Res. 24 – Expressing the sense of Congress that the report of Special Counsel Mueller should be made available to the public and to Congress. He released the following statement:

"Since the beginning of Mueller's tenure as Special Counsel, I have led calls for more transparency with his investigation and with the efforts in Congress to hold corrupt officials at the DOJ and FBI accountable. Today's resolution, though meant as an underhanded attempt at undermining President Trump, it aligns with the objectives of the Republicans in Congress. Let the American people see the report. Let them judge the information for themselves. The President has nothing to hide, and I am confident that my constituents will see that for themselves.

"However, let's not stop at the Mueller report. Democrats are blocking testimony from key DOJ and FBI officials who may have attempted to undermine President Trump and the will of the American people. DOJ and FBI officials are still withholding requested information from Members of Congress. In the spirit of full transparency, let's allow the American people to see all the pieces of this puzzle. And if not, what are the Democrats, DOJ, and FBI hiding?"
