House Members Support Congressman Jim Jordan

July 9, 2018
Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representatives Andy Biggs, Mark Meadows, Ken Buck, Matt Gaetz, Paul Gosar, Jody Hice, and Scott Perry released the following statements in support of Congressman Jim Jordan in response to unsubstantiated allegations against the Ohio Representative:

“In the United States, all citizens are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Jim Jordan is not the exception. I trust Jim Jordan’s integrity. He’s been in public life for nearly two decades and has earned the reputation of a man of integrity. I am confident that when all facts are revealed, Congressman Jordan will be vindicated.” – Congressman Andy Biggs

“I have always known Jim Jordan to be a man of the utmost character, honor, and integrity. As the independent investigation is concluded, I’m confident people will learn the truth and it will confirm all he has said about the situation. I’m proud to stand by Jim Jordan and support him 100%.” – Congressman Mark Meadows

“Jim Jordan is the real deal. His integrity and willingness to tackle tough issues for those who don't have a voice is unmatched by anyone in Congress. It is inconceivable to me that Jim would ignore complaints of sexual abuse by athletes he clearly loved and respected.” – Congressman Ken Buck

“The question remains how is Congressman Jim Jordan supposed to prove that he didn’t know something 28 years ago? Could any of us? This is a deliberate attempt to knock the best oversight member of Congress off his game the week Peter Strzok is scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary and OGR Committee.” – Congressman Matt Gaetz

“In the many years I have known Jim Jordan, he has served with integrity and good character. The timing of these allegations, coming 13 years after the doctor died, combined with the questionable background of the accusers, and involving the counsel for the DNC, makes one thing clear:  these are mere political statements intended to smear a good man.” -- Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S

“As Congressman Jordan has said, any allegation of abuse must be investigated and any victim must receive justice. As to whether he looked the other way, having served alongside Congressman Jordan for nearly four years, I have always known him to be an honorable husband, father, and public servant. I cannot imagine a scenario in which he would act with anything less than the utmost integrity, and I stand by Jim.” – Congressman Jody Hice

“As long as I’ve known Jim Jordan, he’s been the paragon of integrity and honesty. He’s a man who goes after injustice – not someone who sits and waits to confront it.” – Congressman Scott Perry
