Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in response to claims that the department is misusing a $40 million taxpayer-funded counter-terrorism program to target conservatives. DHS’ Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP), initially designed to address al-Qaeda’s recruitment of Americans, is reportedly being used to target and suppress conservative-oriented Americans.

I opposed the last debt ceiling plan in the House because it raised the national debt by $1.5 trillion over a few months, but the deal that Speaker McCarthy has made with President Biden is an even bigger disaster.

The original bill that passed out of the House last month promised fiscal year 2022 spending levels with a savings of approximately $131 billion and rescissions of almost $900 billion.

Tonight, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is opposing the House of Representatives’ H.R. 3746, the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023. This legislation raises the nation’s debt ceiling and could lead to an increase in the national debt by $4 trillion by January 1, 2025. The bill preserves President Biden’s student debt bailout program, the 80,000-some Internal Revenue Service (IRS) army, and Green New Deal subsidies.

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced the Federal Employee Student Debt Transparency Act. This legislation would require all Senior Executive Service employees and Biden Administration political appointees to disclose their federal student loan balances to Congress in a more detailed report. The Biden Administration continues to push for an unlawful student debt bailout while their own staffers reportedly hold millions in student debt. This bill would identify potential conflicts of interest and provide more accountability.

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) introduced the Biden Time Act of 2023 to delay reaching the debt ceiling “X date” that Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen claims—without a shred of evidence—is June 1st. Congressman Biggs’ legislation would immediately rescind unspent COVID relief funding from the American Rescue Plan of 2021 as well as unspent IRS funding from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ), along with Congressmen Chip Roy (R-TX) and Ralph Norman (R-SC), sent a letter to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY) urging them to advance legislation to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO) and prohibit using funds for U.S. participation in the organization. Congressman Biggs’ legislation—H.R. 79, The WHO Withdrawal Act—and Congressman Roy’s legislation—H.R.
