GILBERT, ARIZONA – This morning, the United States Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, ruled in favor of Jack Phillips in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. A U.S. House bill sponsored by Arizona Republican Andy Biggs that gives terminally ill people access to experimental drugs was signed into law by President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
The legislation, known as the "Right to Try" bill, allows patients with life-threatening conditions to use treatments that haven't received Food and Drug Administration approval.
"There were no options. But now you have hope — you really have hope," Trump said. He noted that "for many years, patients, advocates and lawmakers have fought for this fundamental freedom."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Biggs submitted two amendments to the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act. One amendment focuses on allied contributions to international defense collaboration, and requires the Secretary of Defense to submit an annual report to Congress that outlines the annual defense spending, military activities, and limitations of each mutual defense treaty ally and major non-NATO ally. Another amendment requires an outside auditor of the Department of Defense.
