WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, new reports allege that former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe made repeated claims that an effort was undertaken in 2017 to begin research into invoking the 25th Amendment against President Trump. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Judiciary Committee considered H.R. 8, a gun control bill championed by the Democrats of the Committee. Throughout the day, Republicans offered dozens of amendments, seeking to restore constitutional protections to the legislation. Democrats opposed allowing a person who is suicidal or a potential danger to others from giving their gun to someone in order to prevent violence. They also opposed allowing victims of domestic violence, who have orders of protection, from receiving a gun to protect themselves.

This bill would ensure that potentially toxic substances are accurately identified and reported to the public by eliminating an office within the Environmental Protection Agency--the Integrated Risk Information System, or IRIS--that has been carrying out flawed chemical assessments using improper science. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Democrats took the unprecedented action of granting their Chairman the authority to issue a subpoena to Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker – even though Mr. Whitaker has indicated that he will appear before the committee voluntarily. Mr. Whitaker has only been on the job a little over two months, and a new Attorney General is expected to be confirmed next week, which will end Mr. Whitaker's tenure as Acting Attorney General.
